It has made my year to be informed by the Gorilla Doctors of the latest Mountain Gorilla stats earlier this month.
The new official Mountain Gorilla total now stands at 1063, up from 1004.
This makes me so very, very happy. I knew it was looking promising with so many recent births, but this is more than I could have hoped for.
A huge thank you to the Gorilla Doctors who tirelessly work to keep the Gorillas healthy, to the rangers who keep the Gorillas safe and everyone else directly involved with the conservation of this remarkable species; one that is more like us than you could ever have thought possible. (Wait for the book )
