Lioness on rock

This image was taken on my last trip to East Africa, photographed in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, a place very close to my heart! Due to the season, the grasses were very long, so finding big cats to photograph wasn’t always easy. On some game drives I didn’t see any, however, it did also have an up side. The big cats like to see whats going on with the world, a bit like our domestic cats, so would jump onto Kopjes, or rocky outcrops. They would sometimes spend hours ontop of these high vantage points, which made for some great photography for me. Nice clean shots… just how I like it!

As my Canon 5Dmk2 had malfunctioned, this image was captured with a Canon 500D, purchased (for a very high price) in Tanzania. (Yes, lesson learnt here). 100-400 zoom lens attached, set at 400mm, ISO 200, 500sec @F7.1 Enjoy!

    Hiya.
I know this is kinda off topic nevertheless I’d figured I’d ask.
Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest authoring a blog article or vice-versa?
My website discusses a lot of the same topics as yours and I believe we could
greatly benefit from each other. If you might be
interested feel free to send me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you!

    Superb blog by the way!
